Rossin Pista

Been working on this one for quite some time, but she’s pretty close to done and thought i’d share some early pics, weather has been rubbish last few days so these were taken inside, i’ll take some better ones soon enough, need to get a longer post and i may also need to get a longer stem, but for the time being it’ll be like this, recent purchases have left me very short of funds.

Rossin Pista

  • 55 cm square Columbus tubing
  • Campagnolo Chorus 27.2 aero seat post/Campagnolo seat post bolt/Concor Laser edition saddle
  • Campagnolo Pista steel headset/Cinelli 1A 120mm stem/Cinelli Pista Aluminium bars
  • Campagnolo Pista bottom bracket/Campagnolo 167.5 strada cranks (inner tabs ground off for clearance)/Fyxomatosis 47T/SRAM chain
  • Campagnolo non or pre record high flange front hub 3X to 32H Wolber Profil TX/Challenge Criterium 23C
  • Campagnolo record high flange rear hub 3X to 32H Wolber Profil TX/Dura Ace 13T/Campagnolo lockring/Challenge Criterium 23C

The cranks, stem, post and hubs had the anodizing stripped in caustic bath and were polished with wet/dry 400/800/1200/1500/2000 and then finished on a polishing wheel. I cleaned and repacked the hubs (my first loose ball service) and they’ve been given the tick from two of Brisbane’s finest mechanics.

Many thanks to Bender for the wheelbuild and some parts along the way, Gypsy for lots of help with bottom bracket stuff and some parts, Dayne for parts and listening to me go on about it, tmasz and xcx also for that matter,

edit: i bloody love it too, super stoked, forgot to mention, its got inner tube wrap at the moment, until stem length is finalised, and some rim tape TT protector also, which i kind of like

Ooooh shit! Pretty much perfect!

This. Is. Sick.

+1

timeless classic

neat. i like it.

Nice job looks a treat.
Ditch the aero post and go a fluted nouvo post and this will be epic

That’s some serious commitment to polishing right there!

This bike rules. Love the Wolber rims.

Love it, liking the gum walls. When you say “stripped in a caustic bath” do you mean a bucket of oven cleaner? Or did you use a fancy method?

given the aero boy is too short, this will probably happen, soon

just got caustic soda from the supermarket and found a galvanized tin box thing in the shed

fuking YUM!!!

Then it will be perfect.

very nice indeed. bb must be smoooooth

yes.

Those rims… delicious!

just wow. she is a beauty, and the parts are awesome

Epic wheels. Well, the whole thing actually, but those rims, awesome.

the slut finally done? when you gunna up the gearing for polo???

and you got a thing for red dont you?!?!?!

EDIT: but srly looks good man

haha cheers, got something else on the way that might be polo friendly, and i do like red, thats why i like you.

thanks for the kind words everyone, got a neat little plan for the bar wrap when i get the stem finalised too

the front wheel is very web 2.0.

This. Chandler. Tuesday. Make it happen.
