Show us your Bike Caves...

Same. :frowning:

I try and keep the door closed and not access it while anyone else is in the stairwell so I don’t bring attention to it. I always get stressed that I’m going to open up the door and someone has put boxes in there thinking no one uses it on a daily basis. This has thankfully not happened as yet.
This is also right outside my front door, and the residents of only two more apartments go past the door, so I think thats a plus for keeping it under wraps.
I have also looked at putting a wall rack in there, but at this stage with the bmx tyres on a hook on the wall, there is enough room for everything. More room just means more junk.

Sorted this out over the weekend, now most of my bikes live in the room under the stairs just like Harry potter

here’s a picture of my current shed. the commuters are outside of shot.

I love being able to hang stuff from the roof.

Moved in to our current house and she was excited about the ‘dog room’… the dog has a back yard, this be my sanctuary… all but one are/were mine at that point.

Don’t have room for one, but i’ve seen Busyman Mick Peel’s bike cave. It’s the gold standard IMHO, all his bikes hung from custom leather covered hooks on one wall, with all the riding gears neatly arranged in the rest of the room, almost like a display suite. I definitely be emulating this once I can afford a bigger place.

Thanks for the tease without pics

Upgraded the ‘shed’ with the Fisher Price storage system. Thanks Aldi.

I need to sort out something similar. Way too many homeless nuts and bolts.

^ thats a great space saver setup snow

Yeah it works pretty well. Having no space has forced me to figure out efficient ways to store stuff but still keep it accessible. If I had more space I’d probably be less organised, and more likely to collect crap.

Storing wheels and tyres is a problem though.

Power tools in plastic blow moulded cases are a godsend.

Just saved this. Awesome.

Will be looking to emulate when I move again using a spare Ikea cupboard carcass! radradrad.

Ikea can be a good source. I made my pedalboard from a $7 timber shower mat from Ikea, plus about $20 worth of other bits and pieces. It’s not that pretty but it works well.

Just invented some allen key storage with some picture hooks and a piece of wood that was lying around.

And I’m a pretty crap DIYer so if I can do it, you can probably do better.

That pedal board is awesome!

Can it fit in a case or anything? I made one out of some plywood so I could cut it down to fit into a metal case I got from Supercheap Auto that I put my leads in.

That’s the best thing anybody’s ever said about it, including me. I only use it at home so there’s no need for a case. It was supposed to be temporary but I guess it worked well enough that I’ve never bothered to improve it.

But if there was a case the right size it would work well. The pedals are plugged into a powerboard attached underneath and so there’s only one cable that goes from the pedalboard to the wall, so it’s all pretty well self contained. It’s plugged into a remote control power point at the wall and the little white box at the top left is the remote control so I can power up the board without having to crawl through other stuff to get to the inconvenient power point.

Organised my Bike ‘corner’ - put some hooks and ‘made’ some storage for parts. No more bits in my bedroom so I’m happy.

I’m pretty happy considering its a share house, smashed an old desk apart for the drawer base and top- its has storage on both sides. And then some hooks up for tyres, tubes and wheels.

Cheers to Diddy for the stand - got it working again with a nylock nut.

^ holy shit

arrr, that’s classic!
