Show us your Bike Caves...

clever

Been raining past couple of days in Brizzy so I effectively grew a bike cave in the gym

I think I’m gonna do a couple of these in the living room for the nicer bikes

and then an IKEAhack with the Stolmen posts, a vertical beam between the two and then 4-5 bikes hanging by wheels from hooks.

seems to be one of the more value options that wont look shit and be utilised well in a rental.

Both those are great ideas, The top one makes a great display

yep, I’d put some cute flowers, ephemera etc. on there to keep the housemates happy.

Yeah thats it, a nice bunch of flowers and they wont even notice the new bike.

My thoughts precisely due to the Waltworks arriving today

Anyone have any good sources for ‘vintage’ (read: hipster) timber boxes/crates in Melbourne?

Plunkett stole all the milk crates…

Dump shops? There is one in Coburg and probably other outer suburbs…

I got an awesome metal tool box/suitcase there for $10!

I like this idea. You can give your bike a quick tune and lube the chain right where it hangs.

I’ll be doing it, I think I have a few boxes in the shed

I’m glad this thread is still going. My current set up, work bench and clamp just out of shot to the right:

alternating the height of the hooks is the trick to fitting them in as the car goes right up to the Lemon-lime.

did some tidying/wall mounting - Need to make space for the new addition when it gets here!

Still got a heap of parts in a box out of shot, the duarte frame, 5 rims and 6 wheels, all my tools and a whole bookshelf dedicated to crap inside ha ha

Get some from Camberwell Market or Coburg Trash and Treasure, both on Sundays. No doubt some dude who sells vintage tools will have something. I’d hit up Camberwell first. More likely to be someone with them.

Good idea man, I havn’t been to Camberwell Market for ages. Cheers!

That’s a sweet looking Bridgestone !!

Cheers Spiz.

Is that a built bike holder ? Or have you cut up a bucket and made it like that ?

if you made it, I want more photos !

It’s called a cycloc. Designed to be more aesthetic in your loungeroom than the usual hanger.

did some rearranging:
