Love a good wedge. The one in Cali is something else but there’s a fair few here in oz that are just as much fun when they’re working. They remain some of the craziest and most fun days I’ve ever had, nothing like getting smashed to bits !!

This vid linked to the above one is more like The Wedge I like to see and dream about … Carnage !!!

More Wedge dreaming (it’s barely 1 foot in Sydney)

Uge from Aquabumps took this stunning pic from this year’s winter in Oahu. Big props !! I’ve seen a lot of stunning underwater pics but this takes me breath away (and has taken my breath away in the past … #beenthere).

I love my daily dose of aquabumps.

Me too … except you can see my old house in most morning shots and it makes me more than a little sad. It’s nice to have a garden/garage/land/space etc but you can’t replace the ocean in front of you as a motivator to get in the water everyday (sometimes 2 or 3 times a day).

Sadly I just can’t afford it. I do wanna move back to the coast but it’s gonna have to be outside of Sydney. On the plus side at least I got to see that every day for 12+ years and prolly spent more water time than than any of my mates.

Got a wave in this morning at The Spit. God I forgot how good we have got it in Winter up here. Spring suit was plenty warm out there today and it was overcast this morning with a bit of rain.

That’s the wave of a lifetime !!

That was awesome.

I dont think I’d ever go to work…I do life just as close to the beach but I CANT see it from here.

I know it’s not technically surfing, but with summer just around the corner I’m looking to do a bit of skim boarding. Used to mess around on a board years ago in France every so often.

I can’t find any information on brands/price etc.
Anyone on here know of any brands/makes/models worth looking into, or a good online surf store that’d be able to sort me some info.

Been to a few surf shops and a few online shops, found one board for $450 and a stack of “K-Mart” style ones.

Didn’t want to start a whole new thread, although I am expecting a few “Fuck off kook! Locals rule” style replies.

I had a Vitoria skim I bought back from Cali they are great so are zap skim try online not sure who does them down here but you need to spend $200-$400 for a decent one and about the same on Physio

Cheers, after an extensive search I came across Slotstik boards who’s designs look pretty nice.
After looking at some of the videos I’m pretty keen to give it a go.

Substitute the music for this:

…and that movie would be a whole lot more enjoyable.

Given I grew up in a coastal town, yet somehow drifted into the ‘musician’ group, I lament how little I know about surfing, will probably try and change that soon.

Mark Matthews, Dean Morrison and Hippo are crazy bastards,

TC: i have not surfed since Dec 26, untill then the longest it had ever been since age 10 was 6 weeks.

I live at the beach so if some of the Sydney folks ever want to go for a surf hit me up.

Just booked 4 days down the south coast at the start of Oct. Will hopefully be hitting up Durras, Potato Point, Narooma etc… so should be pretty good.

If anyone has surfed down that way and has suggestions for some good spots, get at me!

I will email you.
