True, but mates are good too.

while i agree mates are helpful when air loss is/has occurred there are often penalties… ask ritchie.

Sums it up really:

True!

Can’t believe Paul & Phil can talk about Lance and dismiss him for taking drugs and then use Eddie winning by huge margins as an example of a great rider. Selective memory is strong in these two.

Hey man, you weren’t there…

New race orders…DONT HAVE A COW MAN!

illegal sock height on froomey

Yeah he really needs to be rocking a 7" sock at that height.

Just watching the replay now, seems there is a commentary and camera black hole over Dan Martin and the rest of the guys in the original break while climbing the last half of the Tourmalet … Would have been nice to how those guys were fairing, rather than only seeing Majka up front, the gc group and Barguil out the back.

Yep was frustrating watching that last 40kms on the box last night. Knowing that Martin could have had a crack earlier on the climb as he was certainly chewing into Majkas lead, but not seeing Martin or what was going on around him was annoying.

Hopefully we’ll see the battle for second heat up tonight and eat into Froome’s lead. Hard to see that happening with Porte’s and Thomas’ form though, am I the only one who’s wondering what they’re putting in the water at SKY?

Bertie going to win by smacking it in the crosswinds I read about it on cyclingnews!!!

whats up with froomes arm?

just you and the rest of the internet, all going around quoting watts per kg numbers which apparently prove something

You know how uncle phil and paul mention lance, but then go onto say that Miguel Indurian was a ‘great’- thats bullshit isnt it? Surely Indurian doped

They should simplify the whole dope testing regime. Just ask the riders - is your name Cadel or Richie? Answer No then you are a doper. Simples.

So good

Not his, I think.

Geraint Thomas is my favourite rider in the peloton, mostly because I could easily imagine him rolling round with me and my mates talking shit then going for a few beers after. But watching him chase down Nairo Quintana, regarded as the best pure climber in the world, late on a brutal mountain stage just left me feeling cold. I hate that about pro cycling.

In most every other sport, if there’s an unlikely performance - such as Matt Dellavedova, some undrafted kid from country Victoria, being the most important player in two NBA Finals games it can be celebrated for the pure joy that it brings. In cycling, my favourite rider pulls out the Ride of His Life (TM - Phil Liggett), and all it does is make me feel queasy.
