NEWS

  • Notes for Summer Criterium Racing – here’s a couple of notes to remind riders of aspects of the HPRW Summer Criterium racing:
  1. If your race time is almost complete, the commissaires will delay the finish if there is a group racing closely ahead of your grade. Unless there is a break-away group, it’s best to make an understanding with other riders in your race to ‘back off’ to allow for a greater distance for the sprint. If this doesn’t eventuate, the commissaires will eventually call for you to have a ‘lap out’. When that occurs, to avoid disqualification, make sure you take strict notice of their instructions.

  2. With the crit season being held in Summer, there is a greater chance of rain. The commissaires’ decisions are always FINAL regarding whether racing will go ahead or continue. Please be aware that quite often it can be raining in Brisbane, yet be quite fine and dry at Lakeside. Generally, racing will continue with light showers, but heavy rain or large sheets of water on the track at Nundah or Lakeside will see racing called off.

  3. If there is rain around, please keep checking your email or the HPRW website. The club will always try to give notice of cancellations if possible – but again, the commissaries always have the last say.

cheers, i think ill work on my group riding skills a bit before i come along. more so for everyone else’s safety

Come to track on a Tuesday night , it’ll get you well sorted.

Racing is the best training.

This^ treat every ride as a race.

And at track you get at least three chances to get dropped every meet, unlike road or crit where once you’re off the back, either tt it or go home, no second or third chance

For reference!

while I emphatically agree - you should really practice what you preach

Pb’s on strava brah I’m all about that shit

strava aint racing - getting home and being unable to lift your legs across the back door threshold due to absolute exhaustion is a fair indication you’ve sufficiently punished yourself

8.05 if Terry lets me - one look at my condition and I should be fine!

old people sure do talk funny

yo gangstas lets fire up the crit machines its race time! i got my licenece renewed and im keen to get out there and mix it up wit the d/c graders! lets win some d-dollars!

See you sat

will be a nice warm up for youse ahead of the the CX at Chandler in the arvo

anyone know what the grading situation is going to be at chandler for the cx? and where’s the course?

on the grass in the velodrome bro!

Scott will you need a sandbag to check you grading?
very informal, you can race the graded not open!
See you there…

Do SCCC still run twilight mid-week crits?
Nothing on the calendar these days.
Used to have the old ‘front & rear lights compulsory’ message (but no clear indication where/when the races were)
