the Geelong project

I think spoilt little (bike) bitch is a more apt name for the one who calls himself tart…

Sometimes I think I’m really hungry so I go to the fridge to get something to eat.

When I open the door I realise I’m not hungry. I’m just bored.

Road trip. Taking gruppo & wheelset to Geelong.

And collected a wheelset from Shifter Bikes.

HED Belgium C2 to Campagnolo 32H Record hubs.
Front, 2x approx. 810gm no skewer.
Rear, 2x NDS, 3x DS approx 935gm no skewer.
DT Swiss Comps front and rear.

Not the lightest wheelset as they are about 300gm heavier than the Shamals I have
but these are for country riding and running 25C tyres.

Hoy! Whats the current status here? The wheels look nice! I’m really looking forward to seeing it all together.

Are there any more decisions to make?

Received an email from Baum while I was away last week.
Have confirmed colours and geometry along with sending more monies.
Frame is probably about 8-9 weeks away.

Have swapped the saddle to a Selle Italia C2 which will get shipped off to Busyman once I email Mick.
Probably get some matching leather bar tape.

Still haven’t picked tyres but everything else is now locked it.

Cerf 26s! See Keith’s new Kumo for inspiration.

Still looking at tyres. Keith’s Kumo is running ‘blue’ label and I would have liked ‘green’ label for matchy matchy.

Have locked this in with Mick from Busyman:

Busyman is busy, said he is booked out until February.

#notvegan

February?! That is mental.

These will be finished late this week or early next coz they are for a Baum cuz.

saddle down, mate.

boooooo

wheels are fucking sick

they are good on bicycles hey

And sorted. Bar tape and saddle complete. Payment made. Should be at Baum by the end of the week.

Big ups to Mick @ Busyman for being a legend.

And the frame starts production today after being delayed for 3 weeks waiting on steel.

will you be getting pics during the build process? or only once its done?

Woo! I was wondering about how this was going… can’t wait to see how it turns out

Doubt I’ll get pics of the frame during the process. Might have been different if I lived in Melbs and made a few trips down there.
Need to lock in a completion date so I can arrange to come over and pick it up.

Frame is welded, tapped and reamed. Should be off to paint today or tomorrow.

Planning on heading to Geelong & Melbs on 11th to collect.

Ended up going with Michelin Pro 4 Service Course tyres for the Shamals.
Still looking at options for the HED/Record wheelset, either Vittoria Open Pave Evo CG 24C or Grand Bois Cerf 26C.

Wiggle are listing a Vittoria Pave CG Open Clincher Road Tyre in 25C and 27C. This does not say it’s an ‘EVO’ tyre so
I don’t know how these are different.
