The Radavist

What do people think of pollys new venture?
The first thing I notice is a massive Specialized banner at the top of the site.
Also WTF does it mean?

The Radavist | Rubber Side Up

It looks good as a mobile site, it’s a fucking mess as a normal site. More contributors is a good thing too.

supposedly radavist = RAD + ATAVIST

**Atavist: meaning an organism which has the characteristics of a more primitive version of that organism

Comments are still funny.

Things Fall Apart | The Radavist

Okay…

Agree JLN - the desktop version’s dual-layout is annoying. The mobile version is pretty much the old Prolly one.

As for the ‘venture’ and ‘collaboration’ - guess it just legitimises brands offering samples for widespread reviews.

The radish can hear you.

…were you asking what radavist means? Read it in one of the comments sections. Don’t really like it.

No I get you. My ‘okay’ was more in reference to polly’s obscure, wanky explanation.

SO kinda like the meat pie / party pie relationship.

It’s a reference to the hipster/internet fetishising of getting back to nature, otherwise known (previous to 2012) as camping. Talk to Sime, he knows all about it.

not bothered by the new name/branding, but i prefer the old layout.

i also prefer the old fyxo layout too (or the past few iterations in fact) - for me it’s harder to work out what’s new content at a quick glance.

I prolly won’t follow prolly anymore.

fucking bang!

It has been fun watch Polly slowly transform from fixie rider, to yonder, and now to a fully fledged dually mtber.

You missed the CX step.

But to be fair, what percentage here have done that?

Fixie -> vintage road -> CX -> Modern road -> townie/foofy -> Touring -> MTB -> fat bike/29+/etc?

Pretty common progression I’d say. I can’t see myself ever preferring sealed roads over dirt and single track again.

Mine goes:

BMX -> Fixie/Tarck -> Road -> CX/touring -> Bikepacking -> MTB

Mtb -> dh -> mtb -> fixie ->mtb -> ssmtb -> mtb -> cx -> mtb

wasn’t a fan back then, same now.
