well I must either be very stupid or not give a shite, because I’ve got 2.
Along with all my OG Natas Panthers, Powell Caballero Dragon & Bats, Santa Cruz Kendall Jager. They’re even un-cooler. I have to hide those in my basement…

no, by having the longboard you’ve forfeit your right to the old boards.
you know that saying that wrongs not equalling a right and all that shit?
yeah…
yeah but I have 2 longboards, so that makes it even more wrong that I have cool OG decks from back in the day. Some are NOS, NOS, I tell you. I bet thats like salt in an open wound…
nah.
it makes it look like you never rode your boards back in the day (nerd) and can’t really skate now (hence the longboard) or are now a middle aged collector re-buying his youth, but with skateboards for the wall instead of a convertible or old guitar (nerd + sad).
actually, i feel mean for picking on you.
we can both agree these are old and good.
actually dnzr you’re spot on, I am desperately trying to relive my youth by buying stuff that I threw out years ago, and its way more than what I would of originally paid for it.
Well I lie, the Natas complete I posted over in ‘recently purchased’ thread I scored for $50, and my Caballero I scored for $280 NOS. As for the longboards well it does show I can’t ride like I used too, and I was shit then, so I’m total gumby now, so yeah spot on again. But I draw the line at guitar and convertible, that does scream mid life crisis.
Holy ΣΣΣΣ++++++++ ![]()
actually thats also my old roomate, except he did it tough growing up and couldnt afford a lot of the boards he loved and when he did get them they were nothing more than thrashed toothpicks by the time they were done.
now he tells his wife they are way cheaper than original art by the same artists so they go up on the walls ![]()
look, i can’t mock you for this.
i’m getting older and starting to eye off all of those old blind/new deal/world…boards on ebay.
and i have boards on my wall too…
skateboards are quite cheaper today… around 2000 you would pay $150 for every pro board… gone down about $25-30 bucks over the last 5 or so years… not to mention very decent priced australian boards.
on the longboard note I used to live in a snowboarding town in Canada and during summer so many of them rode long boards. I used to borrow my room mates and ride down hill (lived at the top of a pretty mellow mountain) and catch the bus back up.

not old school, not new school, just some nutjob. looks like fun but…
yeah jaygee, prices have dropped but so have manufacturing standards, everything is heat pressed graphics, no silkscreens anymore, they don’t cold press like they used to. Nearly every major brand uses china to manufacture, not that it’s a bad thing but not as good as they used to do it back in the day. Pretty much the same with bikes.
Some companies still do it the old way, but per usual you pay for it. For a hack like me, the china jobs will do for my casual riding (skating and cycling), but you can still tell the difference.
longboards are for cali surf bro’s and canadian stoners.
My VHS Welcome To Hell is signed by Ed Templeton, that vid’s one of my fave’s and the early Zero vid’s too.
I’m not into collecting boards but I would like to get my hands on an old sean sheffey girl board that I have a tattoo of.
sheffey has got about 35 pro boards for Girl skateboards from 1993-2002 alone, so which one you got as a tattoo?
I think it’s from '96, designed by Bucky Fukumoto (who later went on to do some Morrissey video clips YESSS!!)

Rare on the market these days. last one on ebay sold in 2005 for around $100 USD. Artofskateboarding.com has the info, check it out.
yeah i saw it on there, thats the only spot i have really found the mention of a sale. It’s gonna be hard to find.
alexander’s got the right notion with the commuting angle
(mine’s only 46 inches, azz’s 58 is giving me the envy).
