The 'what you've done to your bike today' thread

swapped my front and rear tyres around because my rear was nearly worn through. is that a bad idea?

I don’t get out much. :expressionless:

ATB being the exception! Hope you carbo loaded something fierce, good luck with your fixed gear assault. I’ll be wating outside the shop waiting for tired fixed gear rider with skid request.

Hi fellow fixies,

Finally taken the time to take off as many parts as I could in preparation for a powdercoat ('cause I’m an amateur and don’t have the necessary tools). Still need to remove stem, fork, crank, bb and headset. Probably take it to some bike store for assistance in takin off the rest.

Peace, D.T.

I did this about 2 months ago. The only coment I have to make on it though is that because my rear tire has worn down in such a way that it is now square edeged, it makes it a bit slippery on the front in the wet. It’s fine in the dry but feels a bit wierd though.

Andy

I got some Cinelli drops from my dad’s shed on Saturday, put them on today with some new bartape. Replaced my chain , tightened my straps and gave my bike a good clean.

Just got a longer seatpost to equal the proportions of my stem…

Is this a joke?

no, it’s padding his post count to get trading access.

Ummm…
Speachless.
I so hope this is a joke.
I’m pretty damn tall and have quite long (sexy) legs and I doubt I could even reach the pedals.
That seat post is long enough for you to take it to a frame builder and get them make a frame that actually fits you.

It is a joke, however i recon I could pass this off as a pursuit frame/modification

bought a new bottle of autosol today. everything chrome is getting a buff.
P.s
hate to brake it to you but its definitely not a pursuit frame…

haha we snagged it off an exercise bike - haven’t tried riding it this high, I question the integrity of the steel

I noticed a creaking noise on the way home tonight. Appears to be terminal

Turns out I made around the bay with only 30 kms to spare

Thats nuts. How much abuse did that frame get?

Today I went to remove the cranks from the old bike i’m converting, only to find that the NDS crank has stripped thead, so I now need to come up with another way of getting it out…and a new set of cranks…This build seems to get more and more expensive as I go.

I think it has a bit to do with the B43’s having no give in them at all and transferring a lot of impact force in to the frame. Since I had refurbed I’ve put about 2000 kays on it. The crack started properly when I was going over a speed hump in south melbourne , one of those nasty cobbly type ones. The 30 year old apollo delta frame just wasn’t up for Mono’s, skids, gutter hops. Fun while it lasted though

Time to pull my finger out and buy a real track frame. I haven’t got my post count up to see the for sale section. If anyone is selling a track frame that can take a bit of punishment please PM me. frame and forks for under grand.

Well the Nitto B123AA bars I ordered came in yesterday. I ordered the alu ones, got sent the cro-moly shiny ones, returned them and got the alu ones I wanted sent out. Kookie were extremely helpful.

Can’t wait to put them and my new Kashimax on the Samson.

changed front chainring, tyres, tube, frame and forks and extended the chain in just under 1 hour,

rear cog stripped my hub because SOMEONE didn’t tighten my lockring correctly and it developed play, I tightened it after noticing but the damage was done. rear wheel anyone?
