The 'what you've done to your bike today' thread

+1. What does the big man upstairs have against big frames?

i tried out a set of x-5 speedplays and they were scary, so much float, when you got up to sprint it felt like you were dancing on ice cubes and they are way to easy to clip out of…
the zeros are way nicer once you dial out most of the float.

i like em alot
still gona use my rx-1s for riding to work though i’m not bike on carrying an extra pair of shoes for a 10min commute
the speed plays are for my coppi roadie

and long fixed rides

See this post.

NJS i hope, otherwise you are not cool

i had a new front tyre glued on the other night

NJS, bro, EN JAY ESS.

So tonight on my Europa I’ll be swapping on the drops for a 130mm Cinelli stem and Nitto risers and Champs grips, putting a Rando on the back, and swapping the pedals over to Sylvans with Kid Killy’s plastic clips and double straps in preparation for tomorrow nights alley cat.

Yesterday I put on my new Concor saddle that I got off user ‘Sir Kev’.
I know with the Concor you either love it or hate it- I love it. Super comfy. Its such a different feel to my old Selle Italia. Buying it second hand saved me about 60 or so puonds from wiggle. Thank you sir. Very much appreciated!

Finally got around to chucking on a set of shimano 600 pedals… finally the bike is only shimano 600/durace, campag and mavic…

might actually start a post your ride thread one of these days.

changed the standard drops to some chopped risers with oury grips. cant wait to see how it rides tonight.

ah, the rare shimano/campag/mavic gruppo…

haha oh yes… also the 650c front wheel and the fact that its really only a beaten up and conversion makes it highly sought after by all up and coming hipsters around here…

anyway to contribute to the thread… de-greased and then re-greased the drivetrain… its not making weird clunking noises now.

Put mudguards back on fixie for Melbourne rain.

Full mudguards ftw!

ahh good idea. I need to go purchase some. What do you use?

Try Wet Weather Shenanigans.

Mine are black somas with the star type logo on the back - ingeniously zip tied at the back to the seat tube and rear bridge and attached by holes drilled in the rear fork. Check the soma website and you will find them.

Note that is a road fork rather than the original track fork - needed to get enough clearance at the front.

i prefer the indignity of the wet ass.

oh damn “4 seasons in a day” Melbourne weather. Dry one moment, then next minute it starts pouring down

Installed new Thomson post and stem, shizzled my dizzle
Toed in front cantis, pray no more squeal
Installed speedo, for the first time in 5 years…
Cleaned it(!)

thorough clean & lube of chain, sprocket and chainring
new bottom bracket
clean & regrease headset
new brake pads
visit to the truing stand to tickle its wheels up

All set for tomorrow’s fixie assault on the col de westgate

you rebel you! :stuck_out_tongue:
