You won’t get through customs.
Ha! Only the mad kents have potato & rice GI numbers. I roll happily on 72 gi so I can tackle a hill and a headwind whilst feeling shite.
fknlolzzzzzzzzzzz
Shoulda come over a few months ago before I moved would have been good to put a face to the address’ lol
You have a bike?
Whats the rational behind the toothpaste? isn’t it normally slightly gritty to clean your teeth?
edit: wait, do you ride it a little to clean the hub race?
I’m not sure but 9/10 mechanics recommend it but we can’t show you their faces
bingo.
valve grinding paste would be a better option.
A+ dayne.
Yep. I dont haz lapping paste at the mo, and I dont want to remove too much metal as I’ve ridden the 7 kms to work on it. Lapping paste would be good in the workshop. Toothpaste grit is very fine and I reckon the finer the better. I’m using Oral-B as it happens Dayne and you haven’t seen my face…
believe it or not i had 2 “grades” of toothpaste to hand and one of them i deemed too coarse. We’ll see tonight how it went.
We aren’t judgemental on the west coast…but if you don’t come out for a ride and some brews you’ll be dead to us!!
where you stayin gyp? at your uncles place near my hood or you booked a place in the city?
You can get 10spd SRAM X7 in type 2 if you want it and are on a budget or SLX.
Dunno how good, never ridden off road.
What rear mech is on at the mo?
I think you can run a Zee or SLX Shadow Plus with a SRAM 9 speed shifter and 9 speed cassette. I remember reading something about this on Rotorburn a while back.
But then he needs to buy a shadow+ mech & a 9sp sram shifter, only saving is extending the use of the partially worn chain/cassette. Should just buy a cassette/chain & matched ten sp mech and shifter in X7/X9 or SLX/XT once the chain & cassette are toast and be done with it.
SRAM 9sp shifter, Shadow+ mech in Kensington, Maryland, United States - photo by jwick - Pinkbike ← apparently might work fine without the spacer mod too.
Convert 10sp shadow+ to 9sp pull ratio, only need to buy the mech → Speed hole! Zee clutch der with 8/9 speed shimano - North Shore Mountain Biking Forums
multi lolz and within 20 minutes of each other
Currently an older XT long cage mech, it’s a bit floppy and unnecessary with my 1X9 setup at the moment.
I had a look around at that zee mod after I posted here. I guess my aim was to get a 10sp shadow+ mech and use it with my current shifter/chain/cassette set up but it seems a bit of a hassle. I’ll just ride the shit out of what I’ve got currently and then replace all the relevant shifty and drivetrain bits in one go.
boom.
medium cage shadow+ & trigger, new cassette & chain, maybe even a profiled chainring.
Definitely a profiled chainring. I’m using the renthal 32t that belongs on my future 29er anyway…
top of my wish list.
wolftooth NW 30T… and tossing up between a XT Shadow+ GS and an X7 type2 …hmmm?
No comparison- Shimano. Unless you are paying XX level, SRAM MTB build quality sucks ballz
Calling BS on that H. I have a X9 RD running on my Surly without issue. Only gripe is shitty jockey wheels that seize up quickly. Have heard that SRAMs ‘blackbox’ clutch is a bit more robust that Shimano’s serviceable clutch.
FWIW the new X7 type2 is exactly the same as last years X9 type2 with a different finish.
