The 'what you've done to your bike today' thread

Nope

Yeh that’s the next culprit to check tonight

I had a similar issue a while ago with a cheap stock carbon post, where the top alloy section is bonded into the carbon post was creaking. Did my head in trying to figure it out.

does it click when riding no-hands? maybe it’s stem related, but it sounds like somewhere else. if you keep looking at the crank area to no avail, it might be worth looking further afield.

I’m installing a new decent headset soon so if the saddle isn’t the issue then that will be the next place to investigate.

This. Always the seatpost or saddle bolts.

Take the seat/post out of the frame and pedal around on it.

Could also be the dropouts. Rub a touch of grease on the inside and outside contact points of both the rear dropsouts.

Buy a new bike.

It’s the fixie gods being angry at you for not riding a sweet fixie.

Probably

Contemplated. I’m on the waiting list for a Kumo and have been keeping an eye for a nice 90s steel frame to replace the gas pipe Univega.

So it’s not the saddle. Hopefully DA headset will solve it. If not, then there’s not much else to do.

Considered the possibility that there’s a crack in your frame? Like a tiny one that only makes itself known at that one point of crank rotation?

Yeh it came up in conversation. Keith’s gonna look over it

put a new wheel on the polo bike, mavic xm319 to hope pro 2 evo trials. also put on continental sport contact 26x1.6", feels much better than the old marathons.

Did a test pack for the Brevette, and I think it will all fit!

Sleeping bag and Bivi on nitto handlebar support thingy on the bars.
Electronics in the top tube bag/bento box thing.
Clothes, mat, wet weather gear, 1st aid stuff in the saddle bag.
Spares, tools and spot tracker will go in the add on pouch on the saddle bag.
Frame bag is completely empty for food and all the little things I have forgotten…

Going to tape two spare tubes and some emergency food on my forks.

^ nice work. Saw that nitto handlebar support thingie on Sime’s bike when we went away a couple weeks ago, was pretty impressed.

That looks awesome mike, I’m looking forward to a good write up of the event!

Thanks, yeah was a completely random score I happened upon on ebay.

But its seems pretty sweet, means I still use the flats of the bars, and it clears the mouse ears on the ergolevers.

(sime actually test ran it for me, I have never ridden with it on my bike!, sorta trying it all out this weekend)

A handy piece of kit for drop bar application, I want one now! thanks again for the loan, your setup is looking rad.

I reckon you could make one if you could get some stainless tubing, and some very careful bending.

Finished lacing my back wheel…stupid me trying to attempt 2x/3x mixed lacing late at night earlier this week…

just put this altogether today, had it for a while, but the rear wheel had only just arrived.
early chinese new years present for myself. :o
