Thermomix

Make yourself dinner, maybe some snacks, but DEFINITELY some nut butters.

Already made some brownies… turned out alright, piece of piss to do. Some protein balls to give me muscles and now I am cooking us a Lamb Saag with some coconut rice, smells so good in the kitchen at the moment.

First impression, a bit goofy to cook with. It is going to take some time to get used to all of the settings and knowing what the limitations of them are, just in terms of simply chopping stuff against pulverising it.

The scales on this one is a bit dodgy. Asked for 20mls of olive oil, started pouring - display showed 5mls, then I continued pouring… and pouring… and pourlng. It didn’t move from 5mls. Piece of shit.

I don’t bother using it to dice because it pulverises too easily. We’ve got about 6 or 7 books you could borrow if you want.
If you’re using the same coconut rice recipe we’ve done, it turns out great.

And just that second my wife came home with two more books, including a chocolate recipe one

Nah, I only have it for two weeks. Not worth borrowing stuff for it… internets will do.

Oh this thread.

Um. Yeah… we have a thermomix now. It’s pretty good and gets used a fuck tonne. I still cook ‘old school’ though.

It really come into it’s own when I had a surplus of tomatoes, I made a whole lot of chutneys and bbq sauces. Made some delicious hot cross buns on the weekend. I tried to use it for some of my sourdough but I didn’t get the desired result from that.

Anyway, as you were.

It was either put the video here or in McKenny’s Need to LOL thread.

Yeah, these have been doing the rounds for a while. Check all of their videos out if you haven’t already. Absolute gold.

They deserved their own thread

Son of a diddly!

So you love the Thermomix but you enjoy cooking oldschool… Its either one or the other buddy

I use the thermomix as a tool for cooking - much the same way as I use the weber for bbq.

I do endorse having a whole lot of chutneys and bbq sauce.

Just looked it up, still not sure how it all works.
Don’t really ever envisage a time I’ll have a spare two grand though.

To put it simply it’s an expensive blender with a heating element.

OH, and we claimed ours on tax. The wife is a high school cooking teacher.
