Dogshaming

this is my dog being startled by the camera

here is a picture of a dog that i found on the internet

^ the owners of that dog (bunny ears) should be hit with a large stick! You can’t do that to a dog!!

hahaha

Pic of my boys from this morning, they seem to think they can still share a chair like they used to a couple of months ago when they were half this size…

Those two look like the wanna party all the time.

and party all the time they do… here we are at our favourite place…

Bosley getting some airtime…

this made me laugh

husky photobomb!

Very sad. Went past the animal shelter where I found Medo today and had a look inside. Found this guy … only to find out he has until tomorrow to find a new home. Unfortunately this time I couldn’t take him with me. Maybe someone here can …

Renbury Farm Shelter

^ Wish I was in the position to do this. Here’s a picture of my little terror in his favourite spot to chill.

Been a while since I’ve posted my step-son Baz.

She gets crazier the older she is.

I’ve known for almost 2 years that this day would come which I thought would made it easier but it still left a big lump in my throat and was tough going. We had to put Medo to sleep yesterday as he was very sick and in a lot of pain. The vet made it clear a few days earlier that there was no more options for recovery or for his conditions to improve. The drugs weren’t helping any more, his body was packing down and he wasn’t eating or drinking.

We spent the last morning with my folks on the farm where he’d spent at least half his time. He was happy, got to say hi to the cat and goats, hang with mama & papa Spirito and he even tried a good wog coffee. He enjoyed all the attention and even though we were sad we knew we’d done as much as we could. Mrs. Spirito emptied a few boxes of tissues and I put on my brave face. I can’t express how grateful I am that the the Vet and all the nursing staff were so kind and compassionate - he was a favourite there too and they also cried when saying goodbye.

I met him about 10 and 1/2 years ago when my parents lost a cat & I went to some local animal shelters searching for it. Medo was due to be put down and I thought it such a shame so I brought him home with me. It wasn’t easy and he needed a lot of time and bag loads of patience but we were rewarded many times over by a beautiful, funny and very sweet friend. My sadness is made easier by thinking of all the time we’ve shared, how much fun we’ve had and how lucky we were to chance upon a truly great dog.

Nobody wants to say goodbye or lose their pet but I was so happy his last day turned out so sweetly even though it wasn’t planned. It seemed odd that at least we can show compassion and humanity for our pets and letting them go gently, without pain yet we can’t do the same for ourselves.

We’ll miss you Medo !!!

:frowning:

Oh bro, so sorry to hear about Medo. Very sad indeed.

Rest well Medo…

Sorry for your loss Spirito. We lost our little guy last year, I was overseas when the decision had to be made. Sucked at the time but it was the best decision for Max in the end. I am sure Medo is up there running a muck with my dude now! He won’t be forgotten.

Aw hell Ben, you have my condolences

I’m so glad to have met the big guy, what a character!

I’m sure he had a bloody great life with you, he will not be easily forgotten

Thanks guys … he had a great run, lived a long life for such a big dog (12 1/2 years) and I know he’s doing alright now

Sorry spirito. Medo looked like an awesome furry mate.

Medo was a rad character… i doubt wherever he has ended up he is living as good a life as he had with you both.
