it’s got full shimano 600 6207 with downtube shifters… im over them. I want the convenience of brifters.
this is worrying! warranty?
get tiagra. Thew ten speed is sweet, and shimano offer two year warranty. Sick as.
yeah, still under warranty, but a pita!
sram apex?
OOS on Ribble… otherwise would have gone that route. I prefer the look of the sram, but tiagra price makes me smile ![]()
Decision made, thanks FOA.
i say Tiagra no way…
spend the extra coin, get campag, 4 year warranty and much better ergonomics
+1
No excuse for a crap looking bike irrespective of what the budget is.
Expensive = something you’ve paid for but are never happy with and has no resale value.
Therefore, Campagnolo whatever is a great value buy.

What happens when you want a 135mm rear spacing and you want Campy?
Mavic hybrid types?
That veloce is sexy. But I will also have to convert my Aksium rear to campag as well which adds further cost. I’ve got a strict budget, I don’t want this build to blow out like everything else I do lol
I used tiagra on my first road bike, and even after breaking a spoke and then throwing it into a bush, it worked flawlessly. I then sold it to a mate, and it still works flawlessly. I guess Tiagra is like a corolla.
I’d say the Campag option looks the best though, but having never used it I don’t know how the lower end stuff compares.
IMO, low end Campag is way better.
Also, what Spirito and SK said.
FWIW, I’ve been using Veloce on my roadie for the last couple of years. It was second hand when I got it, and I’ve put a few thousand k’s on it with no drama. It still shifts solidly, the brakes are good, the ergonomics are great. Also, I know it’s more money, but I got a set of Miche wheels for cheap from Wiggle that have also been great.
And just to throw the cat amongst the dogs, Bike24 has black Veloce for about A$430 shipped…
The old wisdom of low end campag being better used to be true. Old Sora and Tiagra was a piece of shit.
New tiagra is not. and replacing chains/cassettes/chain rings will be significantly cheaper.
Yeah +1
What’s with all the Shimano hatin?
The ergonomics…
It’s for a farking commuter bike??
HLC - reread your original post, then read all of the people that have had no trouble with tiagra.
and never listen to sugarkane if you are on a budget.
campy might look better, have more PASSION as hmc likes to put it, but if you wanna get rolling for cheap and know that it’ll work, i reckon you already know the answer
It was the one reason someone put foward that stuck in my head.
This is true! Cheers for the words of wisdom!
Anyone after a complete 9 speed 105 5510 group incl 105 road pedals, ulegra rear der instead of 105 with a damaged right brifter??
Or a complete 7? Speed Shimano 600 6207 group including headset - except a 600 arabesque rear derailleur?
Both in good condition! And going reasonably cheap!
