Tiagra, is it that bad?

yes, look inside your soul and you will know the answer.

and, can you send me a pic of the 7 speed groupset? what does it come with exactly?

Will have it stripped off the bike and cleaned this weekend, and Pics but it comes with:

Headset
Braze on Downtube Shifters
Brake levers / Calipers
Clamp on Front Der
Crankset
BB
Rear Dérailleur (600 Arabesque)
All cables
Can also throw in a Shimano Tourney screw on freewheel.

A pic of it on the bike http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/hlc/Hillman006.jpg

actually, just did a bit of browsing and it seems its friction? I’m trying to “upgrade” to indexed. So I’ll pass.

In my stable commuter bikes get hand me downs so yes they all run campag.

Get the veloce… It’s the things you don’t do that you regret in life…
And buying campag isn’t one of them.

How did I know you were going to say that…

Cause it’s the truth!

Consider this: should the situation arise that you want/need to sell the bike complete, it will sell easier and for more money with the campag gruppo, despite any evidence on how well Tiagra performs. In other words, someone will always want it if its running Campy. Many people rightly or wrongly will snub the Tiagra simply because it’s Tiagra.

What’s the price difference?

Hahah I love it!!! A year ago 105 was good enough.
Not any more

the tiagra group is dog ugly. actually, all current shimano is dog ugly.

for the extra $100, id go the veloce.

It’s the campy passion that makes it beautiful.

Plus converting my wheel. So minimum $150 extra than Tiagra. It all depends on how much crap I can sell to fund this build. Simple as that.

$150 ?? mavic campy freehub is $50 from bikeforce dude =) couple of allen key bolts and you swap it out easy.

plus 100 extra for the group duh!

edit: just posted the same thing as HLC

please go tiagra just to spite all the campy love here

This thread should be renamed- ‘How to convince yourself to buy Campagnolo’

I’m already convinced, 5 mostly campag bikes in my stable, now to convince everyone else!

The elephant in the room IMO is the lack of SRAM Rival/Apex suggestions? Remember when that’s all anybody talked about on this forum?

^would be my pick - don’t like the ergonomics of the shimano hoods
