Was actually keen to hear your top ten, mainly because I would struggle to name ten Aussie metal bands. (I realise this wouldn’t be difficult for the metal connoisseur.)
Was Mindsnare ever considered metal? Credulity was an amazing album.

Speaking of which…
mindsnare - under fire
new christs - divine rites
hard ons - love is a battlefield of wounded hearts
cosmic psychos - go the hack
toe to toe - threats and facts
beanflipper - total dysfunctional collapse
new christs - distemper
expoding white mice - in a nest of vipers
radio birdman - living eyes
hoodoo gurus - mars needs guitars
I know someone will chastise me for saying this, but Parkway Drive - Killing With A Smile, what an album!
I like Parkway’s KWAS - but they went downhill after that. KWAS was like a great mix of HC & Metal, very fresh sounding, and the guitarist has serious chops. The album(s?) since have added nothing IMO.
My fave Aussie metal bands:
Mortal Sin
Psycroptic
Alchemist
Bloodduster
Iron Youth/The Meaning Of…
Segression
Mark Of Cain
Dungeon (woo Power metal!)
Hell City Glamours
And a death metal band I saw at a crappy venue in Bondi Junction about 6 years ago whos name I can never remember but whose gig remains one of the best I have seen.
Good Aussie death/Black metals bands I have seen or have albums/singles of, which my brother is right into:
Sadistik Execution
Destroyer 666
Psikore/Daysend
Damaged
Bestial Warlust
Psychrist
AuroraBor (who were 1st support at Morbid Angel and were great)
Lord Kaos
There’s heaps of good aussie metal out there.
You forgot to add THE SAINTS
Showing my age - in no order:
INXS - The Swing
Hoodoo Gurus - Stoneage Romeos
Cold Chisel - East
Easybeats - The Best of The Easybeats + Pretty Girl (released 1967)
The Church - The Blurred Crusade
Hunters & Collectors - Human Frailty
The Boys - The Boys
Skyhooks - Living in the 70s
The Black Sorrows - Harley & Rose
Jet - Get Born
Honourable mentions:
Crowded House (not sure they are really Australian);
The Reels;
The Sports;
The Saints;
Divinyls;
Painters and Dockers;
Dave Warner;
Redgum;
Yothu Yindi;
Do-Re-Mi;
Stevie Wright; and
Daddy Cool / Mondo Rock / Ross Wilson generally
The band was Bludgeoner, and they kicked arse.
Mark Of Cain are metal?

Oh and “Whatever” by Guido Hatzis.

the avalanches - since i left you
sunnyboys - s/t
the killchoir project - no love for the haters
eddie current suppression ring - primary colours
Can someone up a copy of MYC’s Happiness and Authority and pm it to me? I’ve seemed to have misplaced mine. Also, did One Inch Punch / MYC do a discography?
wouldnt let me select you am i’s sound as ever ten times so i just clicked randomly on the screen 9 more times
There are lots of bands that never recorded full albums. All I have of One Inch Punch, for example, is their demo tape.
OIP did an album (Lost In What We Lack), an EP (Ignorant Bliss) and a split 7" with Sommerset

i have a spare copy of the re-issused LP if you’re interested?
I might take you up on that. Going to check out Clarity Records today to see what MYC stuff they have. I still have the OIP album and I think the EP.
Nexus, what are you saying?
i had assumed people had forgotten about this band. they changed my opinions on the genre in a second.
i have their demo, but they also released an album before they had to change their name to avoid a lawsuit from a newly minted super-electro group in the US. my bro lost his copy of the first album much to my annoyance (as i had never bought it). i’m pretty sure i rebought it so i’ll have a look for you.
they also had a couple of songs on some comps too IIRC. sounds like im in for some crate digging tonight.
i was so very very stoked to see them play again at one of the final arty shows.
i’m also pretty glad no-one has mentioned powderfinger yet. they are/were a boil on the australian scene that wasnt lanced early enough.
