I like Bond’s Aston Martins.

I saw three today.
I used to be in VWDCQ in the 80’s and early 90’s.
My fav was my 1500s Notch, again no pics.

Bikes take all my money these days, but I still love a good Notch.
I love this DS21 about to be auctioned through shannons

Holy shit, I have met your brother on a kombi cruise a few years ago at Narooma.

Probably a VW with a fibreglass kit body.
Green soft top nate?
People switched on to how beautiful they are and they’re sweet to drive. Never had Ferrari badges originally, engine co-developed with Fiat but they are a Ferrari and now very expensive ($250K) after reaching a low of $20k in the early 80’s.
Lots of mini and VW love going on in earlier pages. I love old cars. I have a sick obsession for VW’s but my main love has always been Mini’s.
Finished building this one last year. Third mini, first full on build. Took 3 something years. Not 100% done but driveable.

Also at the top of my list

I dunno … it seems the Polo R isn’t coming to Oz and I think they’re pricier than they should be (as was the 205gti). I’m a bang for bucks kinda guy and would rather spend $6k on a nice 205Gti. I don’t drive that much, and only use a car for the occasional errands so the little Pug would be just for fun. And for any long trips or long haul stuff I’d just borrow my dad’s Benz.

Don’t get me wrong modern cars are lovely, refined and comfortable but I can’t fix 'em, they depreciate alarmingly and cost a serious chuck of $'s if you like anything interesting. Old cars are simple to work on (and I’d rather do my own mechanicing), hold their value or appreciate and offer lots of style for the $'s.
That mini looks awesome Quass! Nice job!
Here is a list of my past rides in order of ownership, I think they may be up on another thread here anyway.

My brother is restoring this at the moment, this is as he found it:

This is his daily:

And his japanese steel that he is selling after doing it up

Yeah, no you didn’t. Polo R hasn’t been released here and as Spirito pointed out, may not be shipped here.
Still hasn’t been released in the UK so who knows when.
And I’ve read a couple of reports that the current Polo platform Q25 won’t take 4Motion and has been revised.
No R = no interest.
And it’ll have huge doors and probably only 3 door - so a very limited market is AUS.
As for Jap steel - this is still one of my favs and if you’re going to do a transplant.

Love the SLRs too.

And those weird inboard drum brakes.
I’d call it ahead of its time. My 1967 W108 had discs, fuel injection, 4sp auto, power steering, central locking (including the fuel cap), aircon, and little lights everywhere. And the little pedal almost hidden on the left that made the wipers go on. I used to tell people it had rain sensing wipers ![]()
So you guys like minis? Here are a couple of photos of a mud racer that some mates and I raced 10 years back.

Chrysler fireball 318 with a holley 600, bongo van chassis with a Datsun rear and jaguar front end, mini shell over the top for shits and giggles.
Got a soft spot for Ford Escorts.

Used to have one of these. Sometimes it was fun but in truth it was mostly awful.
