any tips on a black porteur rack that’s mid fork mount friendly? I like that Tubus Tara a lot, but want some sort of porteur style shelf to go with it as well, aaaaand I want it black cos I’m a knob… or something like the Nitto big front carrier in black

You’ve seen the Spez Globe Porteur rack on my bike (Sime has one as well). Not what you’re looking for?
Globe for small loads. Surly nice rack for panniers and a topload, haulin’ Colin etc for very nice big front loads.
Bear in mind the bike will handle pretty weird with heavy load up high.

Just don’t stick heavy stuff on it.
I’ve used Tubus Tara with Nitto M18 (not black) with good success. Meant I could run my Swift Ozette with lowriders. Nitto/Tubus mounted to the same low rider braze ons. Bit bloody painful to setup though, and am open to other options if I need to pack and fly with it again.
Custom FTW. Maybe Nitto Campee style with detachable lowrider mounts.

yeah, it won’t break but i imagine a six pack is its limit.
So snacks, rain coat, camera, something else light like your sleeping quilt and mat. Everything else heavy in the lowriders.
actually 10kg load limit, but i’d guess anything above 4/5kgs will make it flex and the bike handle like poop.
Buy Keith’s Kumo Rando rack and spray black.
What you do with the bike attached is up to you.
Or two six packs of lights.
