the whole aero debate is a little much i think, i mean the lid looks like a regular lid but with less vents on the side, nothing like those sperm lids
imo, if the shape means air is concentrated into the two main front vents, and air flow exit is good, i think it’ll be fine. I doubt ill have the vents closed for ‘aero’ advantage, but it would be nice for cooler weather.
price will dictate if i pull the trigger.
(ps, yes i know your takin the piss alex, but meh)
Pretty sure I saw some super-commuter Fred rocking one of those Giro Air Attack, with the shield attached, this morning. He also had a helmet mounted rear view mirror.
a few weeks back at one of the omnium nights in brisbane, a young bloke who has just made the switch from BMX to track was rockin out dual redline chain tugs, profile bmx cranks with a 144bcd spider thing, and a bmx lid with a visor on it, sure as shit wasn’t slowing him down.
Having said that, commissaires seem to let taped on visors and taped vents at World level events on the track get through! At non elite events they seem to be pickier…
I agree with you Doomith:) It really depends on your preference and skill levels. Besides that, I think, Giro aero helmets are designed for performance.
Visited a mate at work today, he works at a Specialized store. Tried on one of their fancy new aero road helmets, looks ridiculous on me but it was by far the most comfortable helmet I have ever put on my head.
It was gold watching a guy from NRS’s worst team get dropped in a crit the other day in a Casco helmet with the visor/glasses bit on.
It didn’t help him but he looked like a boss so that’s a plus.
there is always some great comedy at the TDU jason
this sign made me lol, says everything about the TDU demographic. also graeme watson’s page long article about not being able to find his favourite pies in the hills… because he obviously needs more pies
