should have had the Jeff Mills soundtrack!
^ going to chase that down now.
Been listening to Robert Hood’s Omega Man soundtrack this week too
Recently watched “Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery of America” which is… Metal. The movie is almost solely comprised of two Viking metal heroes running around in the forest swinging axes, burning crosses, and headbanging to the (fairly decent) metal/black metal soundtrack. It’s not going to win any storyline awards but it’s got a good sense of humour and some alright music - would have been hilarious to make.
I watched 500 Days Of Summer lastnight.
I really enjoy this movie for the following reasons.
1 - Zooey Deschanel.
2 - Belle and Sebastian references.
3 - voiceovers.
4 - Zooey Deschanel.
Saw Animal Kingdom on Monday, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it really made you feel very uncomfortable. I can see why people thought it was another moody and dark, film noir production, ie Beautiful Kate, Cactus, but I think the thinking mans drama is something that Australia does very well. Another good example. The Square, 2008, the Edgertons debut film.
Let The Right One In is absolutely brilliant.
watched Tetsuo, the Iron Man (1989) and Nightmare Detective (2006) on Monday. Need to watch the first one again, was a bit distracted by other things and the film has very fast cuts. second one was good but I watched mostly as a precursor to Nightmare Detective 2, which I’ll watch some time this week.
Toy Story 3. It’s really good!
I wholeheartedly agree with this.
If you like Zooey Deschanel people should watch Gigantic. if You like good films don’t watch it.
Anyway this weekend I watched three Jim Jarmusch films: Dead Man, Mystery Train and Cigarettes & Coffee. Favorite was Mystery Train, Deadman was good and Cigarettes and Coffe was ok but I lost interest in parts, I wouldn’t watch it again where as the other two I would.
i watched into the wild last night, really good film, cant believe i missed this one
I thought that film was a steaming pile of shit, but that’s just imho.
I saw Toy Story 3 the other week. Cried like a little bitch.
+1
Emile Hirsch was great.
L’affaire Farewell – saw it in the cinema, enjoyed it. Reading about the story afterwards was even more interesting.
Ip Man 2 – saw this at home. Not quite as good as the first one but still OK.
been getting into MIFF and have seen some great films.
World on a wire, an awesome 200+ minute German 2 part film pretty much about the sims game gone wrong.
Desert flower, the story of a Somalian woman who fled to London and became a top model and used her fame to spread the message of oppression of women in Africa.
those are just two of the highlights.
just saw this, thought you might like it

that said, I don’t like looking at her side-on.
But that’s ok, because this picture is not of that angle.
i watched ‘repo men’ and it was awful as expected
loving my elective, film studies. Getting units for re-watching classics like “The Third Man” (although I’ve never been a fan of Orson Welles) and one of my all time faves “The Cabinet of Dr Caligari” great for any of you who are interested in set design. or Weimar Germany.

haha, why’s that?
