Film Thread

watching one of her films, hmm, what was it… Yesman, which was hilarious, I saw her side on and she looked EXACTLY like a decorator I know.
Nice woman, but a creepy similarity, and makes me feel WEIRD.

Bumping. Hearing about Pump up the Volume reminds me that Heathers hardly ever gets a run on TV anymore - too many high school shootings perhaps.
I had serious The Wicker Man flashbacks watching Summerfield the other night on ABC2, their Australian film marathon just finished. Death in Brunswick was in there, as was Storm BoyStone was on the other night too over on SBS. The Stone Council a few weeks back was an enjoyable paranormal fillum.

Once Upon A Time In The West is on soon.

Ms. 4.0 and I caught The Ghost Writer the other night. It reminded me of The Ninth Gate, in the ‘dude solves mystery of book before mystery of book kills him’ kind of sense. :spoiler redacted:

I haven’t watched it in a while but Reservoir Dogs is high on my list of all time faves, also saw Inception at IMAX last week too. Great effects and left you thinking a little as well.

Soooo, who is this decorator?..

You should watch ‘repo man’ instead.

thought i’d post in the movies section (and used the original thread so as not to piss anyone off).

watched “she’s out of my league” which was not only terrible, but also had an awful soundtrack.

Picked up Gattaca today, never seen it but heard it’s okay.

Just finished watching Attack The Block. Really enjoyable.

Watched Super 8 and really liked it, but it got taken to the cleaners by True Grit which was awesome.

I rate Super 8 over True Grit…

It was a close call, I just really like westerns/Jeff Bridges.
I also really liked Brides Maids even though I thought I’d hate it.

I saw Super 8 on Saturday night and was suitably impressed.

There are some pretty amazing moments in Bridesmaids. The puppies in the van slayed me.

+1… i don’t really like true grit that much…

Saw drive the other week, i didn’t think it was that good considering all the reviews said it was great

Am I a bad person for wanting to go see the new Mission Impossible? Ie is it possible to separate Tom the actor from the real life freak he is?

No… But I won’t think any less of you if you see it.

Been watching lots of these lately…

No one mentioned Pulp Fiction yet?

finally got around to watching the losers,
not nearly as good as the trailer would have you believe.

Drive

Really good.

Really good. The hipster soundtrack was well suited.

A mate rated this as the movie of the year,
He was at a showing and some woman had taken her eleven year old daughter,
apparently it’s really not the kind of film that an eleven year old should be watching.

Re watched Rollin’ through the decades, one of my fav doco’s made even better if you grew up skating in the 90’s in the UK.

Red Dog. Get it out on DVD… seriously a great movie. Ignore the cover, it being an Australian movie, and finding it in the family section. One of the best for 2011.
