Has anyone else been drooling over the trailers/corporate videos/android adverts for Prometheus?
My God if that doesn’t look like it could be the best film since Alien.
Prometheus better live up to the hype. Jezuz, how much shit has Ridley Scott got in pre/post production.
Saw Paul the other night, not bad but not Simon’s best work.
John Carter wasn’t bad, put it in a similar league to The Chronicles of Riddock.

- HGTTG - not because it was great, because they made it - finally
- Episode 4,5,6 - have a marathon pretty much every year at some point
- Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction
- Most of the Star Trek films, last one was close to the best
- Anything Pixar
- All the Bond films - Roger Moore was a bi average, Timothy Dalton was marginally better
- Pirates of the Carribean - love Depp’s character
- Cohen Brothers joints all good
- Same for Spike Lee
And some of the stuff Greenaway did in the 90s.
Gangster Squad… title doesn’t sound that good, but the trailer looks fucking mint.

The Man with the Iron Fists trailer looks amazing, probably now the film I’m most looking forward to this year.
Also Red Hook Summer looks pretty good, Lee’s doing another Brooklyn based drama.
Scored free gold class tickets to TED last friday. Funny movie, especially if you like family guy humour.

I watched a movie called “600 Kilos of Pure Gold” the other night, really good.
If you like “heist gone wrong” movies this is the film for you.

i watched deliverance on the weekend. it was ok.
I saw The Place Beyond the Pines last week. It was actually quite good, although the plot was over-intensified towards the end which I think worked against it.
Worth it just for the banjo scene. The rest, not so much.
Saw the new Michel Gondry film last night at the Sydney Film Fest - Mood Indigo. One of the most visually intense things I’ve ever seen. Some really great surreal scenes, absurd details, heaps of stop animation (inc. some gory Jan Svankmajer-ish stuff), really fast editing, Audrey Tatou… Worth seeing when it comes out.
Yeah I enjoyed it mostly, the trailer/poster doesn’t really represent the movie as a whole though. It aint Drive on motorcycles.
Yes! I’m glad I didn’t read much about it beforehand, contrary to the trailer the film is quite moving as a whole (the motorbike scenes were pretty sweet though).
Hangover 3 predictably doesn’t live up to expectations.
Jarhead is ok. Kingdom of heaven is good because there is lots of yelling of BLASPHEMY and GOD WILLS IT
