Heavymetal's commuter bike manifesto

Shame, as it looks so cool. I guess it needed a 2nd higher up under the extension.

Good on them for specc’ing a rack.

I know the distributor has a few of the old Casseroll framesets (metallic beige) as I made in enquiry recently - very cheap, but big sizes only.

1987 repco superlite.
7400 shifters/derailleurs, 35c delta cruisers, veloce dual pivots, exage levers, stronglight crankset.
since fitted a brown suede rolls, a silver cage, and some wear and tear.

it works.

Anyone who doesn’t like the old casserolls. can suckkit!

this was the only photo i could find.

rdy for bikepacking =)

No idea what the frame is. 65 inches fixed. Nitto North Roads, obligatory Brooks and saddle bag, Wald basket, Tubus Fly rack, SKS mudguards to keep my dry. Upright position keeps me happy.

1984ish Raleigh Team Panasonic replica. Hopefully appearing in the Post your roadie thread in the near future, for now it’s just a SS commuter. It came with campy hubs and crankset, just gotta search around to complete the groupo. The bullhorns and horrible blue chain are a necessary evil for now, but whatever - it rides beautifully. I’m in love

^ such a fan of the paint scheme

I’m a huge fan of the Raleigh team bikes in general, I’m so chuffed to own one.

nice work, mate! if i find one in 55cm…

That blue chain is superb.

I’ll sell it to you when I’m done with it. It’s njs don’t ya know?

Anyone on here have any experience with a Carradice Bagman or SQR type rack? I’ve just won a long flap camper on ebay from the UK and need to buy a rack. Wondering which one is best.

Cant wait to get my messsenger bag off my back for the commute now things are warming up in Perth.

I was previously commuting on my cx bike setup like this:

Slowly refining the rSogn. This frame is the best.

Custom Haulin’ Colin front rack, tested out with 6kg of poorly packed / restrained groceries, handling doesn’t suffer at all.

Great looking set-up, does it all.

Is that a light stick on the right chainstay?

RHS: Fibreflare, LHS: Zefal HPX

Path front

^would this be during one of your MGG#5 recon mission?

Yes, the Zefal is hard to miss. Cool colour. Fiberflare’s new to me … looks good (and safe).

That thing is crazy nice.
How may 650b’s do you own Blakey.
The fiberflares double as light sabres.
