I agree, mostly - but now that RRR streams and most shows have their own tracklists, why not just tune in to the bits you like, or see if they podcast and just grab that. You don’t have to listen to the artwank. Mind you, when the ambient show did the sound of a kettle boiling (on an electric hotplate) many moons ago … eyeear-opening.

I’ll listen to the Hottest 100 and have some beers with my mates. Even though most, if not all the music being played isn’t to my liking I can still appreciate it on some level. Even the commercial stuff, it still has its place even if it is just a feeder for new fans into a larger genre.
