Can’t wait to see the final course - at the moment that course carved through bank looks like it has a lot of potential slippage from above.
It’s amazing… and there’s a lot of extra potential for refinement/adjustment. They are coming at with a different set of ideas and influences which is great. It should play to a variety of strengths, but knowing how to rail a berm won’t hurt!
One of the course designers helped design and build the Cairns WC course. Another of the desginers has done a bit of work for Macedon Council working on MTB trail design as well. Plus one of the diggers has a fair bit of ag experience. Between the group of them I think it will be ok. There is still a bit of work to go, including hand shaping the berms which should deal with efficient drainage.
The crit course they have also appears to be excellent.
Plus it’s about 30-40mins of mellow bike path riding from the hipster bubble to the base of the course.
EDIT: Also it’s for an excellent cause.
Pretty awesome, guess they can build a network of tracks and just combine them in different ways for different courses.
Says they are gonna have a race by July! Choice.

Two races out at Warragul, starting Sat week. V/Line nearby. Same day as nationals, but whatevs.
