Post your MTB ride

Nuthin’ fancy, tons o’ fun

Here are my MTB rigs, and some action shots. The Giant XTC SE2 Pro is dead now, cracked frame. Spewing because the frame was light as. Have made a frankenbike about of the bits which I’ll post later. The old FXT Comp is a good all rounder, uses the Specialised FSR link built under license, just a couple of small upgrades and it’s never let me down. Going to use it in the Anaconda:

Chook wants to come for a ride:

Melrose Trails, Southern Flinders:

Secret Spot, Flinders Ranges:

Gappin it !! Kamberrans should recognise the spot, I think it was bulldozed years ago.

My LBS, MC Cyclery in Maroubra, is giving me my 29er for the weekend so I can ride Stromlo while I am in Canberra, despite me still owing $550 (or half the original cost of the bike) on it. So stoked.

That’s bloody unreal.

Wow rcoh what size are those tyres are they? I would say slightly unnecessary and hard to spin.

Think sand or snow capability. Some say, “it’s the new fixed”.

Arr okay, that makes sense. I’m still not a fan of the tyre size and really only makes it good for sand and snow.

just picked this up for the wekend - 2010 Kona Unit SS 29er with 2011 Frame:

Off to C-bra tomorrow…Stromlo Sunday morning!

Do you need a guide for Stromlo for the 24 hour course? You riding solo or in a team? I’m in a team of 4 singlespeed.

Sub 10kg with all the crap on it.

This is an average photo of my Voodoo D-Jab ( no other company has worse names for their frames). I love the shit out of this thing:

Been keen as to build a 29er up for ages.
Last week the new 2011 Redline stuff landed
& I was able to get my hands on one.

I fitted a PRO carbon fork, some Ourys,
Hayes Hydrulics & my pimped up Velocity P35’s.

It rides like a tank on road, and off road with the tyres @ 10-15psi its like a little blue dune buggy!

I’ll put up some better non telephone images when I clean it.

Enjoy,

and the Velocity P35 lumberjack plaids.

sweet ride, how’d you find the carbon fork? I was really hesitant at first but now, bang crash jump.

na, all good. I like 'em. I’ve had them on a different bike for about 2 yrs.
The big tyres take the blow out of anything I ride on.

sweet wide angle, looks like you about to give yourself reverse skidmarks on the outside, you’re that close to the tyres. Mind you also looks like a shedload of fun.

yeah it was fairly steep so i was right over the back tyre. there’s a big old quarry in that park as well with some nice steep inclines a lot bigger than that that i want to try sometime
