Cheers mate - same goes for your IF. Hi-5’s all round!
Question re: the Litespeed - why drop crabon seatstays into a ti frame? That doesn’t make too much sense to me, given the ride properties that ti has anyway…? But I’m sure you’ll explain.
Adding carbon to the rear stay was a big trend around 2004/05. It supposedly added stiffness to the back end for more efficient power transfer. You don’t see many bikes make like that now. To be honest I have owned Ti bikes with carbon and non carbon stays and I cant tell the difference. One thing I do notice about Ti bikes is they have a little more bottom bracket flex.
The frame is only Columbus Thron, its a bit heavy, but nice on rough roads.
All Ultegra 9spd, Cinelli bars 3tt stem and seatpost. In this pic. Shimano 600 hubs with Velocity Deep V’s, swapped up to Open Pros - so much lighter and Ultegra pedals.
mines a fasto coppi mid 90’s columbus genius tubing
chorus 9 speed groupo
record full ti cassette and lockring
3ttt bars and stem
vento wheelset
the wheels keep the weight a bit high but they look good and ride super nice
it’s very fast once you get it going
could build it a lot lighter but i don’t race and it keeps me fit!
Mine is one of the carbon frames Evan was clearing out at Cyclic in Flemington a year or two ago. Thanks Evan!
Built up with new parts (Ultegra) and old (DA), and Fulcrum 5’s.
If you need a comfy affordable seat, I’m a fan of the Charge Spoon.
But yes if you can get one from the states like me its a lot cheaper. Its really shitty how much mark up distributors put on products. I import parts from America and there is no way those figures add up, especially with today exchange rate.
