SS CX - options?

Looks good eh.

that is sick.

Aside from canti bosses, is there much difference between the bombtrack and the soma wolverine?

Probs split stay, fender/rack mounts, full length cable guide on top tube and weight.

yeh, i also enquired about the arise, i think from memory the local dealer was asking about $1500

PM user ‘Nat.’

yeh cheers mate, something popped up which has taken me into a bit of a different direction!

Bombtrack has rack and fender mounts front and rear. They’ve got similar tire clearance. But the wolverine has split stays and a few more size options, plus the disc brakes of course.

Local price is 1449 complete.

I should have said more rack/fender mounts.

Reid SSCX, 4130, Canti’s, track dropouts, rear rack mounts, 40mm clearance.

But Reid.

Would be super easy to respray the DT panel.

… and to set those levers properly.

$500…

I think it’s pretty impressive, especially at the price. Dumb QOTD: what’s wrong with the way the levers are set?

My weak eyes seem to suggest it has no eyelets for racks or fenders though. Looks lovingly at his Pompino

Levers are too low. See how the bar and the hood form a funny wavy line, not good for hands and wrists. Bar is set up well but lever should come up slightly so that there is a nice straight transition where top of bar and hood meet.

ftfy

Don’t expect too much from Reid

Has rear rack mounts on seat stay near canti’s

and also down the bottom near the dropout.

Rear fender mount and rack mounts shown again.

Has front fender mounts on dropout

and fork crown has hole for fender, and can take a front rack mounted on cantis.

IMO, lacks secondary front dropout mount for fenders, mid mount hole on fork for front rack if you want a different rack, and fender mounts on rear dropouts (could use seat stay mount though).

The more I look at it the more it appeals to me as a commuter bike (though I’d take discs over cantis - but that’s just me)

i think this would make a decent wet weather commuter, might wait for them to start popping up on gumtree.
