yeah almost definitely not tightened enough. make sure it is tight enough now, or you might damage your hub.

Bought a new Gold KMC Strong Chain, cheap 3/32 chainwhip, a lockring spanner and a token 14t 1/8 cog. Nick the beast hooked me up at cycle city in Lyneham (ACT)
Put the new 1/8 chain on my bike. Then I removed the 3/32 chain from the whip and used the old 1/8 chain to make a tomity style chain whip. Works a farking treat! Tried to remove the old Velocity lockring from my hub. One on of the many slip-offs I managed to wedge a spoke between by thumb and the nail. Bled a bit. Used a washer to pack up the space between the lockring & spanner for more leverage and finally got the sucker off.
Fitted the new 14t cog to my bike and then took 92 inches of brakeless fun for a couple laps on my street. It feels damn fast, I can’t wait to take it to the track… 
It was a good day.
best purchase I ever made was one of the shimano lock ring/chainwhip tools. used to have the same setup as you, but my knuckles hated me after a while. hadn’t had a slip yet with the shimano and it’s as tough as old nails. will probably outlive me.

They’re not new. Those stickers have been around for at least 5 years and probably more.
The massive ones that take up 85% of the rim? Not the little yellow ones pictured. They’re fine.
let me give you a tip, don’t use thinners/turps/etc on any leftover gum if there is any. rub it off with your fingers. i made the biggest sticky mess a while back trying to clean off the leftover gum with thinners. they weren’t velocity stickers tho, and they’d been on the rims for at least a year.
ah ok. Those ones look shit too But I almost always take the decals off rims.
I got majority of them off in one go, but I used that Orange Power stuff and that got the last of it off pretty easily.
