The 'what you've done to your bike today' thread

today i did this:

high fucking five to myself.
i put all the bits onto this junk kabuki road frame i had lying around. pretty sure the headset is worth more than the frame. im considering forking out big and getting it re-built. dont really want a fuji track.

just ride it. steep fork rake is all the rage yeah? and massive toe overlap.

steep head tube angle, no rake, massive toe overlap and no brakes

hmmm sounds like my ride… Tiwichy, choppy but lots of fun…

removed and repaired a tubular tyre :-o
then did a second one… not all that difficult, if perhaps not quiet as easy as for clinchers.

Applied my nice new Daccordi decals to my newly powdercoated frame… except I put a couple of them on BACKWARDS!!
Doofus indeed.

Not a huge, deal, it just mean means the tails of the decals are pointing the wrong way… :expressionless:

I put a bluesix female conversion kit on my khe geisha hub tonight. (BMX)

It looks pretty clean i suppose.

Rattle-canned the Europa. It’s actually light blue > purple > black, but you can’t really see it in that light. Gonna finish building it up tonight.

Oh, gotta fix the flat in the rear too.

I rattle canned my rear Deep V to get rid of the uncool machined side wall, now fully black. My wife thinks I am a fucking idiot for spending the weekend doing that but at least I have more street cred now :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks to the expert advice contained on this forum it actually turned out ok too.

Finished my nephew’s birthday present, bad rattle job but he’s only 10.

And put on a set of B43’s on my euro. weekend ran out before i could replace BB.

My girlfriend thinks I’m the same for spray painting a “perfectly good frame”. She was impressed with the results though.

i didnt know you had a girlfriend bro!

wooo moccos has freecoaster!! I have a Nankai, its alright but on saturday it was hot so my grease started coming out the side of the hub, i need thicker grease

put on some foot straps after flying down sydney rd when my feet came off the pedals.

i sure hope you have a brake.

Definately should have been done before riding. Foot retention is a must.

it was my first ever ride after i installed the new bits. so i will learn some way or another.

…and here ends the story of the kid that shouldn’t have.

Don’t be a dick run a brake* and strap your feet in**.

*at least to start with
**unless your shirts and you have mad skillz

Of course. I’ve been running one for maybe 2 and a half years.
I’ve never ridden with a nankai as the other guy I ride with with a freecoaster runs a Federal ACB at the moment.

Sorry bro, I’m taken.

Couldn’t dial in my brakes due to the clearance with the rear tyre so I took them off.
Put my Slam Bars back on.
New pedals tomorrow.
